Hello! I wanted to touch base and go over a few details regarding this year’s All-state Workshop coming up this Wednesday, September 30th. Every year we think we’ve hit our highest enrollment, but yet again, we’ve got another year that will top the last! Due to this high enrollment of students, I’m asking you to help with two things: 1. If any of your students have a folding stand, please have them bring it with them on Wednesday evening. 2. To expedite this year’s registration process, I’m attaching the 2015 Registration form that the students typically complete upon their arrival at the School of Music. However, because of our high numbers, we’re asking that you distribute to your students so they can complete beforehand and drop off with me in Comstock (where registration is being held this year) before heading to their assigned room for the Workshop. For anyone driving a car, we have worked with parking to allow the gate for the lot adjacent to the School of Music to be lifted at 5:00 p.m. This means that anyone can park in those spots and not get a ticket. When that lots fills, you will need to find street parking around campus or park in the lot at YPAS/Manual High School across the street. Those transporting students by bus will drop students off at the School of Music and then busses will need to park at Papa John's Stadium until the workshop has ended at 9:00 p.m.. When you arrive at the School of Music, please be sure your students come to COMSTOCK HALL to bring me their completed registration form or to complete the form if they’ve not already done so. After they are finished, they will go directly to their assigned room. Below are the room assignments (subject to change): Flutes 135 Oboes 248 Bassoons 2nd floor lobby Clarinets Comstock Bass Clarinet Comstock then to 130 Alto Sax 262 Tenor Sax 262 then split to 145 Bari Sax 262 then split to 142 (Green Room) Horns 263 Trumpets LL-65 Trombones 267 Euphoniums 3rd floor lobby Tubas 125 Percussion Bird Hall (all percussionists will meet in Bird Hall then split out: timpani – LL70, snare – LL21, mallets – Bird Hall) We’re looking forward to a highly successful Workshop this year. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. See you tomorrow evening!
